ROAD TOUR TO KASHGAR- CHINA
The ancient “Silk Road ”
was lying buried in the history, mystery legends in some of the unbelievable
terrible tales of the past. It is however possible to travel on Silk Road and
visit the legendary city of Kashgar-China via
Karakorum Highway (KKH) and Khunjerab
Pass. In the annals of
history the Khunjerab
Pass stands admired for
pastures rather than passage.
Karakorum Highway connects the legendary “Silk
Road” cities of China, so well heard of with reference to the historic “silk
Road” and the Oasis of Kashgar, Kohtan and Yarkand etc with the capital of the
Pakistan –Islamabad via Khunjerab Pass 4733M through mysterious valley of Hunza, Nagar, Gilgit etc. The whole the
region is a wonderful complex of various natural elements mixed to gather to
form a wonderland.
The border with China ,
Khunjerab Pass
was formally declared open on May 1st, 1986 and Pirali was declared
as a entering point in China
but now shifted to Tashkuran and Sost pot of entry in Pakistan . The zero point is located
at the top of Khunjerab
Pass 4733m that is 86 km
from Sost.
Tashkurgan is the first town of the Chinese side which is located right at the
Kashgar
is about 280 km from Tashkurgan, is a hub of communication in the ancient Silk Road . As much as an ancient city of two-thousand old
years of history with its borders north facing Gilgis Grasslands of the Soviet
Union, west to Afghanistan and countries of the west Asia, south to Pakistan
and India, being bounded on the east by interior Takla Malakhand Desert.

Muslim region of the China .

of old and new ways of life and traditions

Day-01: Arrival Islamabad , sightseeing of Islamabad
and Rawalpindi
Day-02: Drive on the Karakorum Highway
to Chilas 12-14 hrs drive
Day-03: Continue to Hunza Karimabad 7-8 hrs drive
Day-04: Local visit to Hopar and Duikar
Day-05: Day free for local
visits and walk
Day-06: Drive to Lake and by boat to Gulmit
Day-07: By boat to Hussani
then drive to Passu
Day-08: Continue to Sost
then to Tashkurgan - Karakoli
Lake , overnight in Yurt
Day-09: Walk around the
Lake/overnight in Yurt
Day-10: Drive to Kashgar/hotel
Day-11: Sightseeing in
Kashgar
Day-12: Drive back to
Tashkurgan
Day-13: Continue to Sost
via Khunjerab Pass then to Passu/hotel
